Rectangular tub hydrocarbon separator model mel class II

These separators are rectangular in shape. They are manufactured by simultaneous projection moulding of polyester with fibreglass (PRFV) and are very economical.

Their dimensions are reduced and normally their installation is made under the floor supported on a flat concrete bed correctly levelled. (Instalation instructions).

Dimensions

BUPOLSA has a range of capabilities standardized by the manufacturing process, in response to the following dimensions:

HYDROCARBON SEPARATOR RECTANGULAR TUB MEL CLASS ii MODEL (≤100mg/l)
Capacity (liters) Flow (l/s) Length (mm) Width (mm) Height (mm)
300 1 1.010 720 570
500 1,5 1.280 930 600
800 3 1.360 1.040 800

System Operation

The heavy particles (sand, mud, …) are deposited on the bottom and light particles rise to the surface of the water. The effluent enters by the intermediate part of the deposit, taking place a loss of velocity of the same that allows first of all a decanting of the solids and in turn a separation of the hydrocarbons which are captured on the surface of the separator. The final effluent is collected in the intermediate part, thus avoiding the possibility of hydrocarbon output.

Maintenance

The equipment is made of Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester (GRP), so it is insensitive to corrosion and requires no maintenance.

It is recommended to maintain the operation of the equipment every six months and, in addition, it must be maintained:

  • Check periodically that the ventilation is not obstructed.
  • Check that the coalescence filter is not clogged. The level of both chambers must be the same.
  • Check that the operation of the automatic shutter is correct and there is no spillage of hydrocarbons.
  • Remove the surface hydrocarbon layer when it reaches a thickness of about 10 cm.
