Oxidation treatment plants

BUPOLSA’s prolonged oxidation purification equipment is made of glass fibre reinforced polyester (GRP) and is based on the total oxidation purification system with recirculation of active sludge by means of the “air-lift” system. This is the most effective method for wastewater treatment. With this system, a purification degree of 97% can be achieved, with almost total elimination of pollutants and organic matter. This process is characterized by:

  • It is an odourless process.
  • The treated water has no discharge problems, complying with the most demanding legislation, and can be recycled for other uses, such as irrigation.

Operation

They are installed for water assimilable to domestic, and are manufactured in GRP, without generating any type of annoyance.

The BUPOLSA’s compact oxidation unit consists of the following spaces: biological reactor, secondary decanter and recirculation of sludge.

A catch basin must be installed prior to the equipment, which prevents entry of items of more than 20mm that may alter the correct operation of the equipment.

The biological reactor is the space where the biological oxidation treatment of organic matter, takes place. It is based on the use of microorganisms and the air supply by blowers and diffusers.

The secondary decanter performs the function of separating the biological sludge from liquid, by the action of gravity. In the lower part of the secondary decanter there is a system of recirculation of sludge, called “air-lift” system or submersible pump, whose function is to recirculate the biological sludge to the reactor.

Maintenance

  • Maintenance operations will be carried out when necessary, with the minimum emptying frequency twice a year.
  • During emptying it is recommended to leave a safe volume between 1/5 and 2/5 of the total to guarantee the regeneration of the biological culture.
  • In addition, the condition of the sludge will be checked periodically, removing them when necessary.
